Cheektowaga Car Fire on Expressway Closes East Bound Traffic.

(12/21/19) A Vehicle Fire on the route 33 east under the Union Road overpass was closed by Cheektowaga Police and U-Crest Firefighters for safety concerns as the fully engulfed vehicle fire can been seen from the City of Buffalo. Buffalo Firefighters were also alerted to the area of the route 33 at Eggert Rd for a vehicle fire but callers into 9-1-1 were seeing smoke from the Union Road Overpass Fire and Buffalo Firefighters returned into service. No word as to what may have started the fire and the east bound traffic was closed for almost an hour.
