Calls Into ECSO Help Find Truck Wanted In Hit And Run Accident.

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announces Deputies have located the truck involved in a hit and run collision on February 26 in the Town of Elma with the help of the public.

After a press release and social media postings, the Sheriff’s Office received a call with a license plate number of the tractor-trailer.  Deputies with the Crash Investigation Unit contacted the owner, and the driver of the vehicle was cooperative.

Deputies issued traffic tickets to the driver for leaving the scene and an improper turn.

Sheriff Howard would like to thanks the public for being vigilant and answering the call for help.
