Buffalo police responded to a call of 2 young
children locked in a car Tuesday evening at East
Amherst and Holden at approximately 5pm.
The operator of the vehicle had accidentally locked her keys inside along with the children at a gas
Due to the extreme heat, when officers arrived on scene they were forced to take immediate action. Northeast District Officer Peter Nguyen used his baton to break open a window and the officers quickly removed the 2 young children.
Officer James Hall, Jr., immediately began to administer first aid to one of the children who appeared to be going in and out of
Officer Hall brought the child into the gas station and quickly took steps to reduce her temperature.
Buffalo fire and paramedics soon arrived and assisted in transporting the two children to Women and Children's Hospital for
