Buffalo Police Remove Another Loaded Weapon From City Streets.
August 9, 2017: Buffalo police arrested an individual yesterday for stolen credit cards. On 8/7/17, the individual did use 2 stolen credit cards belonging to the complainant to make purchases at several stores in the vicinity of Grant St. and Potomac Ave. The individual made over $1,000 worth of purchases with the stolen credit cards. Buffalo police arrested 21 year old Ryan Cook of Buffalo and charged him with grand larceny – 4th degree, criminal possession of stolen property – 4th degree, identity theft – 2nd degree and scheme to defraud – 1st. Buffalo police arrested an individual on Monday for possession of a gun. On 8/7/17 in the vicinity of Ontario and Copeland, a BPD Housing officer was assisting another officer when a male walked in front of a patrol vehicle holding his pocket. The individual pulled a handgun from his pants pocket and ran into a backyard, throwing the weapon over a fence onto Copeland Ave where officers recovered a loaded pistol. Buffalo police arrested 20 year old Augusts Smith of Kenmore and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon – 2nd – loaded weapon and obstructing governmental administration – 2nd degree.
