Buffalo Police Officer Trapped Under Water


Several Emergency Crews are at the Foot of West Ferry St to save a Buffalo Police Officer who is Trapped Under Water. The Officer is a Member of the URT Team (Under Water Recovery Team) and it's unknown as to the reason currently as to why they were at that location but the call has gone out that the Officer is Trapped Under Water. US Coast Guard, Buffalo Fire and Several Other Agency's are on scene. 2 Ambulances from AMR were also requested.

Update: Air-1 is searching Black Rock Canal for Vic/Body on Water. Divers and Water Rescue Teams from Hamburg, Tonawanda, & Grand Island have been dispatched to the scene. It's believed the Victims Gear has been located underwater however the Diver has yet to be located. THIS IS NOT YET A RECOVERY EFFORT.

14:13 Canadian Officials are Reporting a Red Object with a Scuba Tank Floating in the area of Beaver Island.

14:41 Crews are Requesting Additional Helicopters from the Border Patrol. Canadian and American Personel are operating in International Waters. No further sightings reported. Buffalo Police Command Post Rig being Paced on the International Bridge.
