Buffalo Police Make A Difference with 120 Search Warrants Served!



Buffalo Police announced this morning that they executed 120 search warrants throughout the city of Buffalo over a one month period that began on July 11, 2017.

BPD was assisted by the following agencies:

New York State Police, Lackawanna PD, Erie County Sheriff’s, Safe Streets Task Force, DEA and local swat teams.

Here is a breakdown of the search warrants

that began 7-11-17 and ended 8-25-17.

• 120 search warrants covering all 5 police districts

• 124 arrests

• 30 guns seized – 16 handguns, 8 rifles, 6 shotguns

• 4 kilos of cocaine

• 250 pounds of marijuana

• 35 pounds of Khat

• Large amounts of crack cocaine, heroin/fentanyl and narcotic pills

• $156,326 seized

Buffalo Police arrested an individual last night in connection of a hit-and-run resulting in serious injury to victim. On 9/4/17, at approximately 4:45pm, in the vicinity of Philadelphia St. and Ontario St., Buffalo Police responded to a hit-and-run accident with injuries on Ontario St. The victim was a 55- year- old female from Buffalo and was transported to ECMC where she is listed in critical condition in ICU. The driver did flee from the scene and was apprehended at Broadway Ave and Young St. With the help of city surveillance cameras and BPD Safe Cam program, Buffalo Police arrested 29-year-old Theodore Canaski of Wheatfield a short time later and charged him with; operator leave scene of accident resulting in serious injury and aggravated unlicensed operation – 3rd degree.
