* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Narcotics Search Warrant Reports Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit made several arrests this week on search warrants resulting in the seizing of 4 firearms, cocaine, heroin and marijuana. On July 18, 2017, Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit arrested 6 individuals during a search warrant on Erb St. Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit with the assistance Lackawanna Narcotics Unit. Several buys were made at this location along with numerous complaints about drug deals at location. Police recovered a large amount of cocaine, marijuana and two firearms and seized $1,140 in cash. Buffalo Police arrested 28 year old Michael Mack, 50 year old Stephon Jackson, 28 year old Alterick Galloway, 25 year old Rasheen Jackson, 21 year old Najah Dunston and 49 year old Teresa Cooper all of Buffalo. They were charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm – 2nd degree, criminal possession of a controlled substance – 1st degree and 7th degree, criminal possession of marijuana – 5th degree and criminal uses of drug paraphernalia – 2 degree. On July 18, 2017, Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit arrested 3 individuals during a search warrant at an address on Alamo St. Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit was assisted by the Safe Streets Marshalls and recovered a high capacity assault weapon, a loaded handgun, heroin and marijuana and seized $700 in cash. Buffalo police arrested 21 year old Heriberto Rivera-Marti Jr., Emily Maldonado and Wilfredo Justiniano all of Buffalo. They were charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of narcotic drug intent/sell – 3rd degree, criminal possession of controlled substance/narcotic – 3rd degree, criminal possession of a loaded firearm – 2nd degree and criminal use drug paraphernalia- 2nd degree * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Burglaries and Car Larceny Central District Police received numerous burglary calls over the last week. BPD continues to see instances of burglaries where residents are leaving doors open and unlocked. BPD would also like to remind you that A/C units can be easily pushed in unless properly secured. There has also been a rise in car larcenies with the majority of them where vehicles are left unlocked. Please remember to lock your doors and close your windows to avoid getting your vehicle stolen. BPD would also like to remind you not to leave your valuables visible in your vehicle. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * 

Missing Person 

Buffalo Police Officers, Joshua Domros and Michael Mariato of Central District assisted on a Missing Person call at an address on Erie St. on Monday night for a 71 year old male who had Alzheimer’s. The male was missing for about 2 hours until police came across an elderly male on the corner of E. Eagle St. and Washington St, who matched the description of the missing male. Upon further investigation, police did discover that it was the man that had been missing. The male was safe and sound, and picked up by his wife. Thank you to these two very active officers who kept up the search until they found the gentleman and returned him to his family. Excellent work! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Bike Safety Class Buffalo Police Housing Unit did a bike safety class and rodeo in the Langfields this past Monday. Housing Officers worked with the kids at the Martha Mitchell Center. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  716 Day Buffalo Police participated at our Celebrate the City of Buffalo (716) day held at Canalside. Our K-9, S.W.A.T. team and Underwater Recovery Team were there as well as the Buffalo Fire Department, Sheriff Department, a helicopter, finger printing, child seat checks and Block Club information. There were bike raffles, balloons and popcorn too! In 1947, Buffalo was assigned area code 716 in the North American Numbering Plan, to allow Americans to dial long distance calls directly. Buffalo is the largest city served by (716).The Mayor issued a proclamation recognizing the day, July 16, which matches the area code of Buffalo and Western New York. During the proclamation, the Mayor thanked the men and women in the Buffalo Fire Department and Buffalo Police Department who work to keep the 716 safe all year long. The Buffalo Bills and One Buffalo also recognized the day. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Boys and Girls Club Annual Junior Law Enforcement Day This past Monday, our recent class of new recruits participated in the Boys and Girls Club Annual Junior Law Enforcement Day with 500 kids from across Buffalo. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Events Monday night is Slow Roll - On Monday, July 24th, starting at 6:30pm sharp and ending at approximately 8pm, Slow Roll Buffalo's CMC Centennial Jazz Festival Ride will meet at the Colored Musicians Club on Broadway. The 13-mile ride will begin in the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor and include neighborhoods Kingsley, MLK Park, Emerson, Broadway-Fillmore, Emslie, Johnson & Willert Park along with major streets Michigan, Best, Humboldt, Utica, Broadway, Fillmore, Clinton & Genesee. The ride will be guided by ~100 volunteers as well as a Buffalo Police Department motorcade; these guides are able to stop the ride for emergency vehicles, NFTA buses and periodic traffic relief, as well as offer detours for drivers. The ride is free and open to all ages and skill levels; registration and more info at www.slowrollbuffalo.org.
