Hamburg, NY – On June 19, 2019, at approximately 4:03 p.m., State Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident on I-90 in the town of Hamburg where the occupants of the vehicle left the scene. The uninjured driver, Trent L. Taylor, 47, of Buffalo, NY, was located nearby and was found to be intoxicated and had a suspended license. Taylor was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Buffalo, where he refused to submit to a breath test to determine the alcohol content in his system. Additionally, Taylor has a prior DWI conviction within the last 10 years and is required to operate a vehicle with an ignition interlock device. As a result, he was charged with Driving While Intoxicated; a Class E Felony, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st degree; a Class E Felony, Operating a Motor Vehicle with no Ignition Interlock Device; a Class A Misdemeanor, as well as Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident and other Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Taylor was arraigned before the Town of Hamburg Court where he was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center without bail. A return court date of June 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. has been set.
