From the Erie County Sheriff's Office:
Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff John C. Garcia announced the arrest of an individual following an investigation into an assault in Springville on Friday, May 13.
At approximately 8:17 p.m., Deputies responded to a South Cascade residential complex. When Deputies arrived, they observed a male with a severe laceration to his throat, and Deputy Pickering immediately applied pressure to the wound. The Deputy also noticed other cuts to the victim’s head, neck, chest, and back believed to be caused by a broken glass bottle recovered at the scene.
A Springville Police Officer arrived and detained one male while Deputy Pickering, Sergeant Lehning, Springville Fire, and Mercy EMS personnel continued first aid to the victim. The victim was transported to Bertrand-Chaffee Hospital, where he was readied for Mercy Flight.
Deputies interviewed 33-year-old Roberto Ramos-Perez of Springville. Following Detective O’Hara’s initial investigation, Ramos-Perez was arrested and charged with one felony count of assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon and a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use.
Ramos-Perez was transported to the Erie County Holding Center and is held on $50,000.00 bail following his arraignment.
