Amherst man taken into custody after BOLO for emotionally disturbed person was issued.

Stafford, NY – On February 26, 2018, at approximately 1:15 p.m., State Police responded to the area of I-90, in the town of Stafford after receiving a BOLO (be on the lookout) for an emotionally disturbed person possibly operating a suv near the town of Stafford. After responding to the area State Police located the vehicle and male occupant who refused to pull over after State Police attempted to stop the vehicle. After a short police pursuit and lengthy negotiations, the subject surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody. The male subject was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for evaluation. No injuries reported.
