(C/O WROC). After nearly a week of searching, the body of 18-year-old Selena Hidalgo-Caldero has been found. Her son, 14-month-old Owen Hidalgo Caldero is still missing. An Amber Alert has been issued for the child. Wayne County Deputies say her boyfriend Everado Reyes is charged in relation to the case. Deputies say her body was found in a wooded area behind a home the three were living at on Joy Road, but Reyes has charged with murder, he’s instead facing a charge of tampering with evidence. Wayne County Sheriff Barry Virts says Tuesday night, a deputy investigating along Joy Road Farm noticed a man walking near the woods. "He was checking his trail hunting cameras," said Virts. "The cameras were examined to find Reyes in and out of the woods for a five hour period carrying a shovel on Thursday May 17." Sheriff Virts says inside the woods, they found what they would eventually identify as Selena’s body. "At 10:22 am Wednesday, an unidentified female was found in a plastic bag between logs covered with soil and branches," said Virts. Deputies say they soon found Reyes and questioned him. "Reyes stated he removed the deceased body of Selena from the home and buried her in the woods behind the home," Virts said. "We have not received any information on the cause of death that’s why we have issued the tampering charge." Virts also says made no statement in regard to Owen, who has still not been found. They did say they plan to continue the search on Friday. Sheriff Virts says they will continue the search tomorrow morning on Joy road... All Sheriff Virts says he knows about Reyes at this point is he is a farm worker. He said the couple had only been living at the home for a few weeks, but they have learned that Selena sought shelter earlier in the year for a domestic violence incident. It isn’t clear if Reyes was involved in that. The Sheriff says he is in touch with the Mexican consulate to get his criminal background from Mexico. Reyes was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail. Bail was set at $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond. He is due back in court next Tuesday. Selena's mother released the following statement: “My daughter and my grandson were my life, she was my first born and I feel like a piece of my heart is gone.” -Estela Calderon, mother of Selena Hidalgo Calderon A Go Fund Me has been set up in support of Estela and her family.
