Alden - NFTA Bus Blocks Broadway Due To Driver Error.

Alden Firefighters were called just before 7pm today for a report of a NFTA Bus that had gone of the roadway and struck a utility pole. When Firefighters Arrived a NFTA Bus with 1 or 2 passengers on board was blocking most of Broadway between Sullivan road and County Line road. It appears the bus was attempting a 3 point turn for unknown reasons when the back tires left the roadway and were into a ditch causing the bus to lose traction. it had also gotten caught up into a utility poles guide line that had to be cut and free'd away from the bus as it torn into the buses fiberglass body. NFTA Police soon arrived to take control of the situation. NYS Police were already on scene when crews have arrived. No injuries were reported. crews were awaiting a tow truck from NFTA Bus Garage when we had left the scene.
